In honour of Zach Lind’s 50th (if Wikipedia is to be believed), we’re counting down our top 50 Jimmy Eat World drum beats.
Okay, sorry, just kidding. Actually I would love to do this and will think about it but I don’t really have the time right this second to hammer into it because I still have like 130 cover songs to re-record or something.
So here’s just 3 for now.
3. Congratulations
It’s the track that always keeps me coming back to Survivng, conveniently placed last in the track list so that I have to listen to the whole thing every time. It just hits harder when you do, trust me and don’t skip the line.
2. Nothingwrong
Zach’s drumming always sounds so simple, but it’s always perfectly articulated for the purpose and that’s what makes him one of the best. This lead in drum fill tells you this tracks means business and it doesn’t let up for a second.
1. Sweetness
My drummer started playing this one the other day in practice and I was instantly reminded that this is the pinnacle Zach Lind drum beat.
It begs the question, is Sweetness actually the best Jimmy Eat World song ever released? It really might be, at least I think so every time those drums come in.
