Believe In What You Want: The Fundraiser
When I began the Jaimee Eat World project, recreating Jimmy Eat World’s entire discography seemed like a lofty goal. What I didn’t expect was how much working on the project would help me manage my own mental health struggles and grow my confidence as a musician, performer and music producer. It’s probably why I haven’t given up on it yet – I’m learning a ton and having entirely too much fun with it.
Inspired by the ongoing project, I created a fundraiser in support of CAMH: the Center for Addiction and Mental Health based in Toronto, Ontario Canada. The campaign is called “Believe In What You Want” because that’s really where everything started for me – believing I could do something and then taking the small steps towards it.

In order to maintain complete transparency, I created a team page where you can donate to the fundraiser and it goes straight to CAMH once the fundraiser ends. I’ve given it a couple years deadline in case there are some hiccups completing this project by my own personal deadline.
If you’re wondering why I chose CAMH, it’s because I really believe in the innovative work they do and know first hand that their services save lives.
When a friend of mine commited suicide at 21 years old, one of our mutual friends took the news even harder than the rest of us. They actually had a complete breakdown which required them to be admitted to CAMH. Because of the support of the staff at CAMH, I only had to go to one funeral that week. Today, that friend is thriving and I’m so happy to be able to say that.
